Somethings that we shouldn’t forget…

42-15556255

This week, my great friend Raul sent me an e-mail with a very powerful message. The e-mail had a link to another person’s blog. It linked to a post named “Ten Rules for being Human”.

After I saw what it was, I spoke with Shifu about it. He liked the idea so he told to forward the e-mail to everyone. A few hours later, on the lecture time, he gave each one of us a sheet with these rules so we could discuss it. The discussion was focused on the “Truth” as an ideal and about life itself. It was a very philosophical discussion, but as always, we never get to a straight answer, or the so called “Truth”.

Here’s some of the rules that I like more…

Rule 3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately “work.”

Rule 4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.

Rule 5.Learning lessons does not end. There’s no part of life that doesn’t contain its lessons. If you’re alive, that means there are still lessons to be learned.

Rule 6. “There” is no better a place than “here.” When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here.”

Rule 10. You will forget all this.

Check the blog “Ramblings of a Red Mage” to read all the rules.

Like Raul said: “Simple… yet very truthful!”

  1. Wow, I influenced the subject of one of Master Yang’s lectures! Cool! :P

Those are also my favorites, although #7 also means a lot to me:
    7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
