Half an hour ago I arrived home from a Shaolin class in my school. The class starts at 20:15 and ends at 22:15.
On this last few classes we were training to prepare for exams in August. I won’t do it because by that time I will be with the arm by the chest because of the surgery. In fact, this week is the last week of training before the surgery.
We did about 45 minutes of physical condition, with warm up, stretching and conditioning. The main subject for me on this class was “Tan Tui” or “Spring Legs Sequence”. It’s a group of twelve routines to train mainly the legs, were we emphasize kicking, stepping and jumping, all that in coordination with blocking and punching. It’s the basics of Shaolin Long Fist. It’s a training that I like very much but it’s hard training. If it’s done correctly it can be very tiring.
I trained from the first to the eleventh. Some are easy, others are harder. I hope to develop a lot my Tan Tui’s while I’m in California, and I bet I will.
Now is time to sleep, because tomorrow I have to go to the hospital for the Anesthesia consultation in the morning.
